A friend of mine attends Mission Bay Community Church in San Francisco. She asked if I could document one of the church's Sunday Worships, as well as getting portraits of the community for their new website. I thought, it wouldn't hurt to talk to the church elders and see what they had in mind for a shoot, and when they told me there wasn't much of a budget for this shoot, I decided to volunteer my services for free as a donation to the church. It turned out to be a good idea because shooting a church service was excellent practice for weddings. It definitely made me get a little creative to get the shots I wanted since I had to be even more discreet during the service than I normally would during wedding ceremonies. :)
How adorable is this 'Up Up and Away!' themed birthday party? The extent a mom will go to make her child's first birthday unforgettable is virtually limitless. Alice, a busy, working mom of three put together one of the most elaborate birthday parties I've ever seen for her youngest son, Carson. This vintage airplane and hot air balloon themed birthday party, along with a newly built play structure, and animal show to entertain the younger guests, completely blew me away. The food, catered by The Waffle Roost, was definitely a treat for both kids and adults. So much detail and thought went into this party, I was thoroughly impressed!
I was kindly hired by friends, Alan and Robyn, to capture—their son Noah's first birthday party. They celebrated at a park near home. The weather was gorgeous on the day. Robyn laid out toys for the kids, and the cupcakes, from Sibby's, were the perfect (and adorable) touch to this intimate first birthday party.
